On a 10-hectare estate near the Somone nature reserve, this lodge has 19 bungalows, a restaurant and an infinity pool overlooking the lagoon. We are carrying out renovation work there: pool restructuring, restaurant, bungalows, finishing work, air conditioning and terrace roof framing.

Building near the lagoon: points to watch

• The lagoon and its nature reserve are a protected environment: ask the local council which rules apply to your plot.
• Land close to water can be damp or sandy: the soil type determines the foundations.
• As everywhere on the coast, salty air means materials and workmanship need extra care.
